MORE CINDERELLA AND TEEN AUDITIONS

One of the many special moments that happened at FCT on Mothers Day was the arrival of this darling “little Cinderella,” I’m not sure who she was, but she must have loved Cinderella and came dressed the part. I couldn’t help but snap these few pics of her meeting Ted and our lovely Cinderella Ellen.
I also I could just kick myself for missing the photo opportunity of having Cinderella #1 from 1986 Ellen T, who was in attendance, with Cinderella #2, 2009, Ellen F. It was just another sign of the strength of the FCT family to see a member from over 22 years ago still attending and supporting us. Who knows, maybe this little princess will be Cinderella #3 in another 20 years or so?
It is late, I haven’t been home for long after the second AMAZING night of Beauty and the Beast auditions… WOW, FCTT just seems to get stronger every year, just shy of 60 local and surrounding areas teens auditioned. Without the list in front of me I can only recall the following schools that will be represented this year, Genoa, Woodmore, Lakota, Gibsonburg, Clyde, Bellevue, Tiffin Calvert, Oak Harbor and Fremont. The talent was again.. AMAZING, the voices, the enthusiasm, the acting, the dedication that was obvious from many of the kids that had planned to work hard on their audition to make it the best they could. So good to see lots of brand new faces mixed with the familiar ones. I know I have been pushing this show before it was even cast, but now, it will simply be MAGICAL, I’m sure all the teens, the advisers and the FCT board welcome you to”Be Our Guest” in July for the 5 shows that will set Fremont on its musical ear! Check out just a few pics in the teen gallery with more to come!

MONDAYS MOTIVATIONAL MOMENT

I’m glad to say I finally got the chance to catch my breath some the last few days, Cinderella has opened, so that means the physical work of getting on the set is over, so my mind is a little clearer and I have some time to think about a few things.
I’m going to try to start a feature here on the CBG blog a weekly (or when I find a good one) inspirational or motivational encouraging thought. Hopefully with a connection to life in the theatre and the work we all do time after time.
Today’s message I was drawn to because of the last word in it and that relationship to the Cinderella song and the overall task that we face every time a show is selected, an empty stage is handed over or a costume idea bounces in a head onto fabric and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to taking a show from that moment when a director chooses to guide a cast and crew through the process right up until the last bow is made on closing night.

ONCE UPON A TIME…

…in a land called FCT, Cinderella ruled in the afternoon, and wannabe Belles and the Beasts made their first appearance at the auditions for FC teen theatre Sunday night.
The Mother’s Day matinee was simply a wonderful way to spend the beautiful afternoon with your mom as the cast once again delivered a crowd pleasing performance. My mother attended and it was good to spend even a little time with her despite my busy schedule. The attendance was for the third show in a row was very nice, especially considering we had to battle many dinner and visits with mom in many other ways. Again I remind you, next weekend, the LAST weekend , the LAST 3 performances are approaching sell out status very quickly, do NOT delay, call and make your reservations soon, before it’s just too late!!
Sunday night marked the first of two night for the teens to switch storybooks and give their best shots at the exciting roles of Cogsworth, Gaston, Lumiere, Madame De La Grande Bouche, Mrs. Potts, Chip and others in addition to the title roles, nearly 40 enthusiastic and very talented kids showed up to get their chance at being in one of the most anticipated and lavish productions FCTT has ever mounted. With one more night of auditions the competition should get very fierce, hopefully the directing team will make their decision Monday night and I will try to get it posted ASAP. I’m telling you right now, no matter which of the many ways the casting could go right now, it’s gonna be one TERRIFIC show!!
I wouldn’t be able to write this posting without sending out a very public and heartfelt thank you from all his fellow FCT family to pianist extrodinaire Bill B for stopping back by the theatre, it was so good to see you on your old bench, with or without padding.
